Y.E.S. Program Receives Award

At the town board meeting on Tuesday, July 12, the Cheektowaga Youth Foundation presented the Cheektowaga Y.E.S. (Youth Engaged in Service) program with the 2022 Outstanding Youth Award, recognizing teen volunteers for all the service provided in the community.

Volunteers with the most service hours were invited to accept the award on behalf of our organization. Emma J and Victoria H attended the presentation with Jessie, Jessica, and myself.

You are all an exceptional group of young adults that I get to work with every day and I'm so proud of each and every one of you, All of you spend so much of your free time to help make our community a better place to live and are role models for everyone your interact with.

Since the programs relaunch in fall 2021, Y.E.S. has: - Recruited 100 volunteers to actively participate in the program. - From January through June, volunteers have collectively completed almost 600 community service hours - Made a difference in the lives of nearly 1300 people

All of you should be proud of yourselves! It’s impressive to see the dedication and amazing work ethic assisting with activities, especially during a time when so many businesses are struggling to retain paid employees.

Thank you for all that you do! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer (even though it goes so FAST) and I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
