What is Y.E.S.?
Cheektowaga Y.E.S. is a volunteer program for youth in grades 6 - 12. Y.E.S. stands for Youth Engaged in Service.
Teens participate in an assortment of community activities such as making crafts with children at libraries, cooking meals at the Grace Guest House, leading games at seasonal holiday events, and much more.
Not only does Y.E.S. provide community service hours required for graduation and look great on college and job applications, but is an excellent opportunity for teens to make new friends and gain leadership.
Middle and high school students are invited to join and are required to attend an orientation program prior volunteering for activities. After attending an orientation session, volunteers can pick and choose which events they'd like to sign up for each month. Each event is lead by an adult, event supervisor who will guide the volunteers, ensuring that each activity runs smoothly.
