November 2025 - Advisory Board Minutes

Advisory Board Meeting Minutes November 10, 2025      6:00 – 8:00 pm

Present Board Members: Audri, Cole D, Giada D, Maddie R, Maddy P Staff: Alicia & Jessie

1.      New Volunteer Orientation Mon Nov 10, 6:00 pm – Audri & Cole

4.      Shirt Sales Reminder – If you’d like a long sleeve t-shirt ($12) or hoodie ($20), money is due Nov 19!  You can pay over the phone or online at www.CheektowagaYES.org

5.      Holiday Party for AB & YES Staff Escape City social will be Tues Dec 30 (there are only late times available for Mon Dec 29) Meeting at Alexander – 4:30 pm (Escape Room begins at 5:15 pm) Activity: Escape City – Body Collectors (will have to sign waiver – room is for ages 13+) We’ll go to dinner after the escape room. Dinner options: Tully’s, Anderson’s, Wendy’s, McDonalds, Moe’s, Blaze Pizza, Jersey Mikes, Shake Shack. Open to other ideas within budget but need to agree on something that everyone can eat.

6.      Recognition Event  Tentative Date: Fri Jan 30, 6:00 – 8:00 pm @ Alexander Last year it conflicted with a MS dance at Clevehill. Want to make sure as many volunteers as possible can attend. Please let me know ASAP if there is a conflict. Recognition invite will be going out in Jan/Feb newsletter and Save the Date will be on Remind soon.

Dinner: Wegmans catering – sub tray, boneless wings, mozz sticks (MORE than last year), sushi, dessert (ice cream floats & cookie/brownie tray), cheese & crackers, chips Activity: Team Trivia (with prizes) Review HOMEWORK: Begin brainstorming ideas for “Superlative Goofy Awards ”Thank you to Audri for being the ONLY one who completed their homework! You came up with a ton of great ideas for Goofy Awards!  Alicia will take care of making certificates/awards for volunteer awards. If the Advisory Board would like to give out Goofy Awards to the YES Staff, you guys can create them on your own. 

7.      2026 AB Schedule – Sign Up for an Orientation Slot

We’ll add on any new AB members to pair up with veteran AB members.
